REMI displays a code between 282 and 299
REMI displays a code between 283 and 299, what does it mean?
When REMI starts up, it usually displays a code between 283 and 299. This code corresponds to REMI’s current version. We regularly update REMI to improve its performance, and each version is assigned a unique number.
1. Does REMI update automatically?
Yes, REMI updates automatically when connected to WiFi. No action is required on your part!
2. What to do if REMI stays stuck on the version?
If REMI stays stuck showing a code between 283 and 299, it means it is waiting for a new pairing with the app. Here’s what to do:
- Unplug and plug REMI back in.
- In the REMI app, tap the + button or “Start pairing”.
- If the app asks you to choose your WiFi network: continue the setup — everything is working fine.
- If the app loops and REMI stays stuck on its version: there is probably a Bluetooth issue.
3. Check and fix a Bluetooth issue
In this case:
- Check that REMI is not already connected to your smartphone’s Bluetooth. If it is, remove/forget this connection in your phone’s Bluetooth settings.
- Unplug and plug REMI back in. Try pairing again through the app.
- If the issue persists, check if REMI is correctly broadcasting over Bluetooth (BLE).
What is LightBlue?
LightBlue is a free app that lets you see nearby Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices. It is only used to check if REMI is broadcasting its Bluetooth signal.
Download LightBlue here:
- Open the LightBlue app on your smartphone.
- Unplug and plug REMI back in.
- Check if REMI appears in the list of detected devices.
- If REMI appears: try pairing one last time by tapping + in the REMI app.
- If REMI does not appear: Bluetooth is no longer working properly. Please contact customer support.
4. What if REMI shows a code below 283?
If REMI shows a version lower than 283, it means it has not connected to WiFi recently. In this case, we recommend re-associating it so that it can update.
5. What if REMI displays a code between 2283 and 2299?
If REMI displays a code between 2283 and 2299, it means the customer support team is running tests on your device. This only happens if you have recently contacted customer service for an issue.
This test mode is temporary. If your REMI continues to display this code for an extended period, please contact customer support.
